Nothing will put you in the Christmas spirit more than exploring local holiday events with friends and family.  We've rounded up our Top 10 favourite Christmas events in Langley, Vancouver, Richmond and beyond to help you make the most of this holiday season!

Christmas Glow

Back for a second year, Christmas Glow is the largest indoor Christmas festival in Greater Vancouver.  Featuring playgrounds, interactive light displays, a Christmas market and food trucks and don't forget the big man himself, Santa!

Aurora Winter Festival

Brand new to Vancouver this year, Aurora Winter Festival is Canada’s largest winter festival. Escape to a hidden village with a beautiful skating rink, a tube park, massive light displays, a Christmas market, amusement rides, food gardens, magical characters, and plenty of other exciting activities.

Bright Nights

Metro Vancouver’s most magical Christmas light display will once again open to the public for the holiday season, during Bright Nights at Stanley Park. Over three million dazzling lights decorate acres of the forest, accompanied by a train ride, music, snacks, entertainment, and even visits with Santa and his elves.

Vancouver Christmas Market

Each year, the Vancouver Christmas Market brings festive Old World German tradition to Vancouver. This holiday event offers an authentic German feast. Stroll the pathways of a European-inspired Christmas village while sampling Glühwein, a selection of German and Austrian beers, and a variety of sweet and savoury treats.

Polar Express

Take a ride on everyone’s favourite Christmas train, the Polar Express at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish.  Passengers will be treated to an hour-long train ride complete with hot chocolate, cookies, Christmas carols and stories. Then, take a trip to the North Pole Workshop and Gingerbread Village for a chance to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus themselves.

Lights at Lafarge

Enjoy the magic of the Lower Mainland's largest free outdoor lights display at Lafarge Lake in Town Centre Park.  This year’s event features hundreds of thousands of lights wrapping their way around the lake in multiple themed zones.

VanDusen Festival of Lights

Enter a magical world for the 34th year of sparkling lights and holiday cheer at VanDusen Botanical Garden’s Festival of Lights.  The expansive attraction features over 1 million lights spread out over 15 acres of the garden.

The Peak of Christmas

Experience the magic of the season at The Peak of Christmas on Grouse Mountain.  Enjoy fun family-friendly activities in the Chalet and watch classic Christmas movies on the big screen in the mountaintop theatre. Or head outside to go for a mountaintop sleigh ride or bring your skates and enjoy the outdoor skating pond.

Loft Country Christmas

This family-friendly Christmas event will have something for everyone, including a ‘live’ horse carousel, Santa rides, bumper cars, carnival games, shows, food, and more.

Steveston Festival of Trees

For the month of December the Gulf of Georgia Cannery is home to dozens of elaborately decorated Christmas trees. The trees are designed and sponsored by local merchants and people vote for their favourites.
